Kevin Lewis is a kinetic sculptor whose mobiles are reminiscent of the great early/midcentury modern artists. Mr. Lewis constructs his compositions from steel and aluminum painted primary colors. The mobiles incorporate shapes, sequences, and numbers from nature. They are typically custom-designed with a specific space in mind, integrating concepts and ideals that define and are important to his clients.
Mr. Lewis was born in Key West, lived in Baton Rouge and Washington, DC before retiring to the Shenandoah Valley. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Art and Architecture from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He practiced architecture for more than thirty years.
